I’d say it’s more like a long essay. The Lost Daughter of India. Though almost every page is filled with some new twisted tale, the ruthlessness and the animalistic nature of the Pirs paves the road to how powerless and dependant a community can be.

This makes for a difficult and painful read and is certainly not for the faint hearted. Durrani resides in Lahore with her husband, who is a part of the politically prominent Sharif familyand the brother of Nawaz Sharifthe Ex- Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The story basically tells about the power of religious leaders in a society of illiterate people. Here is a beautiful woman who was forced into marrying Pir Sain when she was just fifteen.
